Update on Noah - with photos

Noah went back into surgery this morning around 9 and came back up to the NICU at 11. Praise God Noah is doing well! The surgeon said they had to remove another 5cm of small intestine this morning and placed 2 ostomies (end of upper section and beginning of lower section) at the surface of Noah's belly. They look like little lips; we'll load photos a little later. The surgeon seemed very optimistic about Noah's outcome. Once his surgery has healed more, they will re-introduce feedings; in the meantime he will get all feeding through his IV. Once feeding, they will try to "bridge" the 2 ostomies. This means they will try to catch the food that comes out of the upper portion of intestine and then place that into the lower part of the intestine so that he can absorb more nutrients to grow. He will still be able to grow on IV feedings. We are elated at the news today and our hearts feel much lighter as God has unloaded the burden. We know this is because of the many many prayers little Noah has received. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!

To borrow and paraphrase a bit from Jeremiah - We are shouting for joy on the heights and rejoicing in the bounty of the Lord, for we called to Him and He answered with a great work. He promised we can take it all to Him and the load will be light.
In Christ's love,
A.S.
