I have found myself living these past few weeks just wishing that the days of bottle feeding, sleepless nights and four babies that require us for all of their needs would pass us by and we could skip on to the next chapter and truly start enjoying this new family. I know it sounds awful but it hasn't really been a cake walk, thus far. After having these thoughts day after day, I realized how much I will miss if I continue this way. If I'm always looking toward the future for my happiness, I'll miss the gifts we have right now. So I thought I'd make a list and give thanks for the things we were blessed with today.
-2 hours of uninterrupted sleep - no alarms after the 6 am feed and Chris and I took a rare uninterrupted nap!!
-Chris is home until next year!
-A perfect vacation with the Glass family - what a huge help they have been - THANK YOU!!
-4 babies at home - I am so thankful to have them all together

A Beautiful Walk On The Beach - And We Only Got Stopped Once!

Hi,
So glad to hear you enjoyed a wonderful week at the beach. What a joy to have family all together - and to be willing helpers!
Mari, as I read your comment I thought of 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "..give thanks in all circumstances..." The word is 'in', not 'for' - and I can tell you realize that there is much to be thankful for in the present circumstances! It has to be such a daily walk of faith taking care of four - but how precious they are. Can't wait to see them in person again.
In Christ's love,
Alaine
Call me anytime you want a nap, Mari. I'll come over and love on those babies (well, maybe me and a friend or 2!)! See you this week for a feeding!

Our trio is almost 8 months old now (5 adjusted) and I can assure you it does get easier! I was the same way...those first few months were very tough. But when they start doing fun things, like smiling, giggling, and playing, it makes a world of a difference.
Oh, and sleeping 12 hours at night doesn't hurt much either. ;o)
This time in your lives will be over before you know it, and you'll be wondering where your tiny little babies went. I hear it gets even worse once they are mobile, hehe. But a different kind of worse. I think it will be so much fun. ^_^
Hang in there! I know it's hard, but I promise, easier days are right around the corner!
Mari I admire your openness to share with us so honestly what you are feeling. You are a gift to us all. Raising one baby isn't easy, I can't imagine what raising four is like. You have such wisdom to recognize to not wish your present away. Each step of the way will have it's own joys and challenges. and be sure when the opportunity arises to take care of yourself!!!!
And do not be too hard on yourselves - you both have been through alot in the past few months - and I truly believe that God did pick out you and Chris to be the parents to the wonderful foursome.....you both do have the faith and love to see this through.
As Always - prayers and blessings.
I don't know a single parent that hasn't felt that way at one time or another. Being a single mom of a now 17 month old I find myself saying "it will be better when she can dress herself...talk...go to the potty" but then she holds her little arms up for me to hold her and I found myself missing the days when I rocked her to sleep (& falling asleep myself.) The days pass by so quickly, it's easier when you can try and laugh about the craziness (not always easy I know.) You guys are doing such a super job. Take it easy on yourself and sqeeze in a nap whenever there is help around, sleep does wonders for a person's perspective.
I love ya, hugs to you all.
Tina
So Beautiful!!!! I love you guys! Jenn & Ansley. See you soon!
