Momma's Back

Sophia and I are back from Iowa to the heat of Houston.  My grandfather (my mom's dad) passed away a few weeks ago and the memorial services were this weekend. I am so thankful that we were able to be there, I just wish we would've gotten up there a little bit sooner so the babies could've met their great grandaddy in person. They did get to talk a few times over Skype video conferencing  and we are thankful for that.

Sophia In Flight (a nice man next to us gave up his seat for her)

A few things I realized while traveling with one little one:
- Having 1 baby off of a schedule is far harder than having 4 on a schedule!
- Sophia is very shy & reserved and enjoys her space! :)
- A regular hotel room will never fit four pack and plays - it barely fits one!
-You can put foam cups over a baby's ears to regulate the pressure from flying on take off and landing (I didn't do this, just got the info on the way back) :)
-You can put foam cups over your ears to regulate the noise of a baby's cry while flying ;) (didn't do this either - Sophia was a fabulous traveler!)
-Chris is an amazing husband and daddy (not only did he take care of the boys by himself - he cooked & cleaned the entire house as well!)

Mari,
Welcome back! Glad you had safe travel and that Sophia proved to be good at traveling. The pictures are so precious of her time with extended family.
Love, Alaine
How wonderful to know the love of God and His peace.

Your children are beautiful. You are very blessed! I found your site through the Steece's Pieces site. My quads are four months old now. It looks like I have a lot of fun times to look forward to. Thank you for sharing your life. Jenn - mom of the herd.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, I know that's hard.

Sophia looked like a perfect passenger. I have a 14 month old, and we are forever traveling from Texas to Tennessee. I hadn't heard that about the cups, but will have to try it. I usually just give him a bottle for take off and landing, which also works--and he never passes up a bottle!

I love that you always have bows in Sophia's hair. My sister and I were always sporting a "power bow" with ruffle socks and matching Keds. Should I ever be blessed with a girl, she too will endure those same pleasures!

Glad you had safe travels.

Blessings,
Courtney Williams

First off, I'm really sorry for your loss. Glad that Sophia got to travel with you to the memorial.
Secondly, your blog is awesome! I came across it by way of the Murray Crew and the Tubre quads. That move it video is PRICELESS! It gives me an idea of what's to come. I'm sure that montage took a long time to put together, so thanks for sharing it.
Have a great day!

So sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm with you on the fact that 4 babies on a schedule is easier than 1 off a schedule! It is so funny to hear someone else say that. If I have to take just one to the doctor during naptime or feeding time and they get off schedule it is a nightmare! Sophia looked so cute on the plane.

Thanks for sharing.
