Merry Christmas

Silent Night?

Merry Christmas to us! The quads gave us the best gift ever...sleeping through the night (10pm - 7am)!! They are so sweet though - they give us little presents every day:) Noah is the only one we wake up at 2am to feed because he still needs to catch up. We switched back to a 3-hour schedule so they could load up on calories and get super tired; however, this also makes us super tired because we only get about 45min-1 hour between feeds to get stuff done or, in most cases, nap. Fortunately, the weather has been beautiful (80deg the past few days) so we have been going on walks in the afternoon when there aren't too many people out. The fresh air helps us to re-energize in the afternoon.

As you have seen from the video on the previous post, they are much more vocal and interactive, and do smile quite a bit. Finn is the biggest flirt of all, as he wooed our friend Jen with his golden smile. Jen gave us a great gift last week. She called Mari and told her that she and Rachel were coming over that night to take care of the babies while we went out and that "No" was not an answer. So Mari and I headed out for an exciting evening out of the house together minus the tots to do our Christmas shopping and actually eat inside of a restaurant. That was such a blessing and exactly what friends do for each other.
Daddy's Girls
We are a little lame because we did not put up a Christmas tree, although Mari and I have never put one up before since we typically travel around the holidays. So in true Goerlich spirit, we took the kiddos with us to New York to see the best tree we know.
The quads take center stage in NYC

Mari and Chris,
Love all the pics in their seasonal outfits. You all seem to be doing great - but never hesitate to call for help, or relief, when you need it. I pray that your Christmas was blessed by having your own small miracles to hold and love.
"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of his benefits" Psalm103:2 May He who satisfies our every need, who crowns us with lovingkindness, and redeems our lives continue to uphold, bless, keep, and provide for you. I'll call later to see if there is anything I can do, or a for a time to visit.
In Christ's love,
alaine

Wow, they are too cute. I started reading your post when a friend, of yours and mine, borrowed my computer and looked at your post. I have enjoyed watching your little ones change and grow. I have laughed so hard I cried over some of the things you both write.
I am glad that you are all doing well and I can't wait to keep watching your kiddo's grow and travel all over. :)
God bless you all and may next year bring you many more blessings.

Those who don't sleep travel the internet - and sometimes are pleased to find something that touches their heart. Tonight I found two videos you had added - Blessed under the babies, and the tribute to Chris's dad under family. Both videos made me want to have what David called a Selah moment-a time to pause and worship God. To be silent and listen to His voice. Psalm 46:10 Pause from a hectic schedule and be refreshed in spirit. Psalm 42:1-2 Interrupt the day to do a spiritual inventory and be cleansed. Psalm 51:1-10 Accentuate the joy of God's provision through thanksgiving. Psalm 65:9-13 Exalt the name of God for answered prayer in spite of disappointment. Pslam 40:1-3 End the day by reflecting on the Lord's faithfulness. Psalm 119:148 Continuing to pray daily for each of you!
In Christ's love,
Alaine

Your babies are soooo cute. I just watched "Blessed" and got the biggest kick out of it - I loved watching all their legs kick in the scene where they are wearing their Christmas onesies - and the boys talking over their boppies - and Noah cuddling Finn - Sophia in her swing and both Sophia and Cohen at the end - and Mr. Finn is certainly a smiling flirt!!!
